Brussels – BE
Cid is a belgian artist. He is illustrator and graphic designer. His work is freaked-out. It is often seen as reflecting the slightly insane mind of the artist. If it’s probably a bit the case, his work is much more complex than that. His creative work is playful, tortured, colorful, funny and sometimes even a bit scary. His illustrations are build like puzzles, full of details, of humor and of emotions.
‘Drawing is a therapy. I mix up number of different techniques. It’s often very intuitive, spontaneous and sometimes even a bit violent’
He started drawing as a child. He studied Virtual Imaging at the IATA in Namur and graduated in visual arts and graphic design at the Institut Saint-Luc in Brussels.
His style is very personal. It rose during the Saint-Luc period, mainly at Ateliers de Labozie based in the creative district of St.Gilles in Brussels and managed by a group of young artists and illustrators. We have discovered his work through a precious sketchbook witnessing nights of intense creation.
